ps: my husband's a weirdo

Mr Alfred flicked through Sports News with utter disinterest. His mind not getting engaged into what once used to be the combination of the two best programs.

Tightening his jaw he placed his feet on the coffee table with his shoes still on, feeling like a rebel he ordered his wife. "Luna! Water!"

Within minutes she came with a glass balanced on a tray, not a hint of frustration to put his poor heart at rest.

He gave the glass a side glance and snarled "Are you trying to revenge me, it's too cold to drink!"

Luna flicked her eyes twice before going inside and bringing the glass back with a hand towel wrapped around it like a cosy blanket.

Holding it with his both hands, sitting in the centre of the sofa Mr Alfred thought "This lady's heart is indeed made of steel. I'll have to plan something bigger"

The next day Mr Alfred was fidgeting in his seat as he waited for Luna to come for her regular afternoon tea with a book and her diary. It was her luxury time of the day to read a few chapters and watch nature through the window.

Seeing her entering he pretended to be engrossed in an article of the newspaper. He waited until she got settled and took a relaxing sip of her camomile tea.

"Quick, we need to buy something from the mart," he said while folding the paper.

Luna gave him a questioning look. They had already done their grocery shopping of the month.

"Mittens. We need to buy some mittens. Now."

Luna nodded and drinking her tea in one go she went inside to bring her coat.

Mr Alfred's face turned red. "I'll have to do something outrageous!"  he thought and slammed the door on his way out.

At the mart, Mr Alfred skimmed through the aisles randomly picking snacks and tossing them in his trolley.
His thoughts jumped from one random slide of his married life to another. All the memories he used remember as happy moments felt bland now.

He can not let the pride of his 30-year-old self who was so proud of his marriage and knew that this is going to be the biggest adventure of his life just die like that. He puffed up his chest, He had decided he's going to go till the end.

Though He exhaled and slumped as the fact box of his head spoke: "But what could you possibly do?"
He continued to move with heavy feet until he saw his wife chatting away with Miss Lilly.

A woman's heart can take all the blows of the world apart from one: Adultery.

Mr Alfred rushed next to Miss Lilly and kick-started the conversation.

"Hello Miss Lilly, how do you maintain your brightness in such dull weather?" He went ahead and held her hands. His wife fairly surprised by his relief.

"I manage Sir," Miss Lilly said.

"I'm sorry for not being in contact much. Though Ages just doesn't pass on you, does it?"

The two women shared a glance of confusion and amusement.

"You should buy a pair of mittens your hands are so smooth you need to take care of them. Let me help you with it" Mr Alfred said and started picking designs for Miss Lilly. While Luna stood behind leaning on the trolley.

The whole way home they didn't share a word and Mr Alfred couldn't help but sneak a smile now and again. He couldn't wait for the night to darken and his wife to fall asleep.

Making sure his wife was asleep he sneaked outside to the table and flicked the lamp. He looked back just to make sure his wife hasn't woken up. He then opened her dairy and flicked to her today's entry.

Ready to read some harsh words, he settled into the seat but to his dismay, there was nothing new to it whatsoever, just the same old love for life and quotes of the books. Not a single word after all the struggles he went through. Not even a question out of curiosity?

Mr Alfred's blood boiled and he stumped into the bedroom flicking the lights on and throwing the diary in front of Luna. She woken up by the havoc sat in the middle of the bed.

"What's wrong with you!?" Mr Alfred said.

"What do you mean?" Luna asked picking up the diary.

"Don't you love me? Have you even cared a little bit about me?"

"But what happened?"

"Your diaries! Why haven't you ever mentioned anything bad about me in them? Do you really don't care at all?" He said.

"You went through my diary? Now, why would you do that?" Luna asked.

"Is that even the fricking point? Why won't you say anything bad about me for goodness sake?" Mr Alfread said throwing his hand in the air.

"Do you want me to say bad about you?"

"No... Yes... I mean isn't it normal for a wife to dislike you out of love?"

"Never heard that one before," Luna said with a pleasing smile.

"But what about today, you clearly saw I was flirting with Miss Lilly. Shouldn't you at least feel a little jealous!?"

"We've been married for 30 years have two kids and I should be jealous of a woman you flirted with at the mart?"

Sighting Mr Alfred took a seat next to Luna "Have you been happy with me?"

"I've never had a boring day in the last 30 years. Nice record right?" Luna said holding his hand.

"Huh, well then don't ever write anything bad about me," he said and slid back to bed.

Luna opened the last entry in her diary and taking a pen from the bedside table. scribbled with a smile.

'Ps. My husband's a weirdo'

Placing things away and closing the lights. She came back to her cosy bed.

"Goodnight" Mr Alfred whispered.

"Don't read my diary again"

"Go back to sleep"
